Veiled Reality: the Limits of Science
It has been a firmly held conviction since the 17th century that science would eventually explain everything. It was even affirmed at the end of the 19th century that, in the field of physics, there was nothing more to learn. But that was before Einstein and Heisenberg, and the ever-expanding world of quantum physics. In this talk we will explore the works of Bernard d’Espagnat, a French theoretical physicist and philosopher of science, and look at how the field of quantum physics has changed the ways in which reality can be perceived, and where its limits are.
